Our Last Journey Together

Sun - e Pizza Night (Company Level)

Me and KX have been planning for some time, decided to reward the kids some pizzas and drinks for their hard work that they deserved. We also asked all the commanders including those gonna ORD to come back, to enjoy this feast together. We ate in the lecture room, watching Plt 2's video at e same time, enjoying ourselves and remembering the days that we been thru.

Mon - De-kitting & CO Vetting

E main highlight is their CO Vetting Parade. I was there, watching them perform on the parade square, snapping away with my camera. They did quite well for the drills but the singing wasn't there yet, but I understand why. Was surprised to see Zijie come back, even though his leg haven't recovered yet, to be together with e platoon for e last time. Good Job! Last 2nd RO was given quite late and long, but I don't care much 'cos I know e KIDs wouldn't sleep so early also.

Tue - Passing Out Parade

Finally e time has come, their big day infront of their loved ones and families. Was glad tat Ernest could joined back e parade as he was e Company Best. I watched their performance again, and they did even better than e pervious day, e drills and singing. When it's time to go down to put on their jockey caps, everyone was rushing down, nervously looking for their sons. I was also there 'cos some kids didn't have anyone to come, so I had the pleasure to put on e cap for them. Liked wad I said when I walked back, the moment of glory is YOURS! Enjoy it....

After e "ROAR", e kids rushed to get their equipments while me and e PSs accompany Zijie down to meet up with Ee Beng so tat he could go back early with him. Den headed back to e parade square to take pics with them and being thrown 2 times into e AIR. (Phew.... All in 1 piece). Lastly, e moment of parting came. ".... Raven Company, please proceed to the ferry terminal." While e kids were lining up to get onto e boat, e commanders were there to shake their hands and bid our blessings to them. Sad, but it's reality... And as for e ORD commanders, it's our last time doing so.

My impressions of you all....

Raven 1
Very playful, not disciplined enough but when it's time to be serious, you all can do it. Good job on ur IPPT test, highest overall passes. "Platoon 1, ready to send arms?" LD -Armskote 2IC

Raven 2
Playful and not serious enough but they are very bonded and together they are a strong team. All of you are too quiet at times, must learn to speak up more. Don't give way to ppl. "Spider!!! Scold Them"

Raven 3
Very motivated, very disciplined. But sometimes too "GARANG" and serious, must learn how to enjoy! "Pain is Temporary, Pride is Forever" by LTA KX

Raven 4
Very high morale platoon, very bonded and closed to each other. Too bad, e basic discipline is not there if not, you're e BEST. However, you all still gets e job done! "Come on, Raven 4"

Since I was not there for your LAST RO, here is wad I want to say....

As e Commanders of BMTC, our main duty is to take good care of you, imparting you e knowledge tat you need to know, explaining e SAF 7 core values' meaning to you and of cos, making your BMT journey, a fun and memorable one. For this batch, I have seen something diff, it was e morale and bonding of each and everyone of you. To e Commanders, all of you are e BEST! But sometimes, we need to choose e best among you all, and it's really very hard. Wad we think and want will sometimes be diff from e way e system chooses, so for those who did not make it e best, don't be disheartened! Continue to work even harder...

1 kid asked me, "Sir, wad do you think of me?" I thought abt it awhile and said, "It doesn't matter wad I think of you, wad's more impt is how you want ppl to think of you." Honestly, all of you are good to me. 'Cos results has shown in e IPPT test, during e SITest when e assessors told me tat Raven was very good and when you all finished e 24km route march. But do not stop here, continue to improve and push yourselves to e limits. Find out how far you can go, you'll be surprised... At times when you got e opportunity, grab it tight and never let go, show and prove ppl tat you are e right choice!

For those who are very worried tat you might not go OCS. I understand your worries and e hunger to go to this premium training school, but sometimes it doesn't really matter where you go. Being a officer doesn't make you e best commander, it just makes you look nicer. Wad's more impt is e pride, e eagerness to teach and educate ppl which anyone can do it.

Lastly, it's your health. If you think you really cannot carry on with e training, report sick. No one will say tat you're weak or wad, if they do, ignore them. We are human beings, we also need to rest and to recover, in order for us to carry on. 2 years of NS will fly past very fast, don't injure urself and bring e pain to e outside world, don't let your loved ones worry...

All e Best to All of YOU, take care my KIDs..... Hope you all will 1 day, see wad's above e clouds!
